Political Organizer The 2008 Political Organizer position is essential to the SEIU American Dream Campaign and provides an opportunity for both members and non-members to assume full-time responsibility on the Presidential primary campaign. This is a temporary position beginning as early as October 17, 2007 and ending as late as February 2008. Primary Responsibilities: -Plan, lead and participate in door-to-door canvasses and phone banks -Deliver an appropriate message with specific talking points for canvassing and phone banking that is appropriate to the audience -Develop weekly plans for your assignment that correctly prioritizes the work and is consistent with team goals Skills Required: -Good listening and communication skills -Ability to work independently and to think on your feet -Good judgment when interacting with political and community leaders as well as voters -Ability to walk long distances and stand for approximately 5 to 6 hours per day Other Qualifications: -A valid and clean driving record -Energized by political environment
